According to whether the measured value actually obtained in the measurement operation is measured in the experimental design, the measurement method can be divided into direct measurement and indirect measurement.     Direct measurement:A measurement method in which the measured value can be obtained directly from the measuring instrument. Direct measurement can be divided into absolute measurement and relative measurement. The whole value of the measured parameter can be read from the instrument reading device, this measurement method is called absolute measurement, for example, vernier calipers, micrometers to measure the diameter of the part. If only the deviation of the measured parameter relative to a standard quantity can be read from the reading device, this measurement method is called relative (comparative) measurement. Since the standard quantity is known, a certain quantity value of the parameter being measured is equal to the algebraic sum of the deviation indicated by the instrument and the standard quantity, for example, the diameter of the measured part after the measurement block is adjusted by the comparator.

    Indirect measurement:A measurement of the magnitude of the measured parameter is obtained by measuring other quantities with known functional relationships to the measured parameter. Indirect measurement will bring function error, the more measurement links, the greater the function error.
